Klangforum Wien

At one extremity of Klangforum Wien’s concert is the furious craft of Franck Bedrossian inspired by Emily Dickinson and at the other is Georg-Friedrich Haas’ holistic spirit, marked by Giacinto Scelsi. The Austrian composer has used recordings on an ondolino – the improvised part of Sclesi – providing a form to an incantatory and microtonal work. With an unsystematic musical coherence, Franck Bedrossian concentrates on the inflections and distortions suggested by the poem or the voice itself. The first part of this evening is dedicated to three young composers brought together by the San Fedele Foundation to focus on Hildergard von Bingen and Chinese astrology: fire for Vito Źuraj, earth for Pascale Corrado, and unification of all elements, electrified, in Aurélien Dumont’s Abîme Apogée.
