Rendezvous: Chamber Music Master Class, July 5
After his musical studies at the Conservatory and University of Milan, Gabriele Vanoni completed his PhD in composition at Harvard University where he studied under Chaya Czernowin, Hans Tutschku and Julian Anderson. His works have been performed in Europe and the United States in a range of venues and festivals such as Carnegie Hall, the Venice Biennial, the Chigiana de Sienne Academy, the Moscow Conservatory, the Bergen Conservatory and by ensembles and musicians such as Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, Les Cris de Paris, International Ensemble Modern Academy, Moscow New Music Ensemble, Mario Caroli, Quatuor Diotima, and Barrie Webb. In addition to his activity as a composer, Gabriele Vanoni led the Italian music festival Suggestioni in the United States and was the co-director of Harvard Group for New Music. Beyond the artistic project developed during the Cursus 2 program at IRCAM, he is working on a piece for Ensemble L’arsenale and one for viola d’amore that will be premiered
by Marco Fusi in 2015.
